The TS0870, TS0870H (heavy duty), and TS0870D (decorative) Smart Card Readers are multifunction, all-purpose proximity card readers suitable for most locations requiring a short-range reader. Product features include: •..Page 5: Before You Begin
Before you begin Before you can successfully install the reader you need to know some details about the system, depending on whether the reader is to be normally used in on-line or off-line mode. These modes are described in the following sections.Page 6: Using Tamper Functionality
An external open collector output (violet wire) may be configured as a tamper control for offline mode. For TS0870x readers with firmware version V07 or later, the watch dog option may be used to monitor the tamper for offline mode. Wiegand watch dog data is transmitted when the tamper is sealed. See option 7—Watch Dog on page 12 for details.Page 7: Wiegand Or Magnetic Stripe Connection

Offline mode only. If enabled, data is sent to the host every one minute to indicate that the RAS is connected and operating normally. The tamper must be sealed for watch dog messages to be transmitted. ADVANCED DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS (ADMS)
Protect, improve—and deliver
ADVANCED DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS: THE FUTURE OF THE ENERGY GRID
Every day, management of the electric grid is becoming more complex with increasing amounts of distributed generation (DG) and distributed energy resources (DERs) at all voltage levels. However, the need to manage the safety, reliability, and security of supply remains a priority. Automation and adaptive software algorithms are required to protect and transform the performance of the grid—accelerating the distribution network operators’ journey to network-level optimization.
GE’s Advanced Distribution Management Solutions (ADMS) provide software for the management and orchestration of the distribution grid. Our solutions deliver reliability, productivity, and efficiency through a modular architecture with adaptive algorithms, predictive analytics, and a brilliant user experience. Our ADMS software is accelerating a maturity model for customers around the world towards predictive and autonomous solutions, and an optimized distribution grid.
- Protect and optimize the performance of your distribution grid
- Improve grid resiliency by transforming your response to outages
- Deliver better business and customer outcomes today, while future-proofing your distribution grid
In the increasingly dynamic and evolving world of the electric utility, distribution grid operators are facing rising uncertainty due to changing business and regulatory models coupled with an ongoing increase in grid complexity. This complexity has allowed software solutions to take advantage of more operational levers, equipment functionality, general data, and telemetry. With converging OT and IT, utilities need an ADMS software solution offering greater visibility and control to the utility—one that will connect and orchestrate, delivering network-level optimization.
GE has the proven and solid foundation-enabling utilities to solve these challenges with scalable and high-performing distribution power applications that have gone well beyond the pilot stage and are in production worldwide. In addition, where many legacy systems are challenged to integrate distributed energy resources (DERs), GE can deliver a solution today that turns the threat of DER into an opportunity.
