Fuji Lens Serial Numbers
I was wondering about the serial numbers of the Fujinon XF lenses. Looking at the ones I have, and ones I've seen others have, it seems to me that the first digit of the serial number is the last digit of the year of manufacture, e.g., my lenses begin with:
21A… -> 2012
22A… -> 2012
32A… -> 2013
38A… -> 2013
45A… -> 2014
The first digit = year of manufacture hypothesis matches perfectly so far.
However, the second digit seems mysterious. I read some speculation elsewhere that it is the quarter of manufacture, i.e., 21A would be 2012 Q1, but clearly it doesn't hold for the 38A and the 45A. Someone suggested that they've changed the second digit to reflect the month of manufacture, but even that cannot be true since the 38A was bought in July 2013 and especially the 45A I got today and it's only March.
Anyone else been thinking about this? =)
Flickr now shows lens serial numbers - is this a problem?
I've sometimes wondered about if there are problems in revealing serial numbers (and potentially impersonating owners)? Can this ever cause trouble to the real owners? People often tend to edit out these details in forum posts.
Settlers 3 gold edition spolszczenie. Microsoft office 2007 enterprise. Metal gear solid 4 iso. I just noticed that Flickr now shows lens serial numbers for all software that stores those details in the EXIF data. You just look at the EXIF details and then click 'Show all Exif'. For example, every single Fujifilm X series lens has this information in the open now if the Flickr user exports with e.g. Lightroom, and Flickr users often use their real names.
